COURTINE I-II MET GOORPOORT, BRUG, KAZEMAT EN MUURRESTEN. Courtine met: - Nabij het midden van de wal de voormalige Goorpoort, thans een coupure tussen twee keermuren met schotbalksponningen. - Voor de poort over de gracht een gemetselde boogbrug met twee bogen en ijzeren leuningen, gevat in blokken natuursteen. - Aan de stadszijde, gedeeltelijk onder de brug en gedeeltelijk onder de coupure, een halfcirkelvormige gemetselde kazemat (ca. 1540) met aan de ZO-zijde drie schietgaten. De kazemat is toegankelijk via een overwelfde trap en is voorzien van twee tot boven de gronddekking opgemetselde ventilatie-schachten. - Aan de stadszijde van de Goorpoort resten van de middeleeuwse ommuring, te weten een rondeel in de as van de Smeesteeg en ca. 8 m. hoge muur ter lengte van ca. 35 m. tussen dat rondeel en de Beekstraat en idem ter lengte van ca. 20 m. tussen de Beekstraat en de Bloemsteeg. - Voorliggende gracht ter breedte van ca. 25 m. nabij de poort, oplopend tot ca. 30 m. nabij de bastions. Betrokken kadastrale percelen, Elburg nrs.: - C388 ged., C389 ged., C390 ged., C391 ged. en C392 ged. (van deze percelen slechts een strook ter breedte van ca. 1,50 m., gerekend van de grens met perceel C1555); - C1226 ged. en C1227 ged. (idem slechts een strook van ca. 1, 50 m., gerekend vanaf perceel C1229); - C1668 ged. (hiervan slechts een strook ter breedte van 5 m., gerekend van de grens met perceel C1212); - C ongenummerd ged. (Beekstraat; hiervan slechts het deel ten zuidwesten van de lijn in het verlengde van de ZW-grens van perceel C709); - en C546, C557 ged., C588, C559, C560 ged., C1077 ged., C1212 ged. en C ongenummerd ged. Description
CURTAIN I-II WITH GOORPOORT, BRIDGE, CASEMATE AND WALL REMAINS. Curtain with: - Near the centre of the rampart the former Goorpoort, now a cutting between two retaining walls with shot-bolt grooves. - In front of the gate across the ditch a brick arch bridge with two arches and iron railings, set in blocks of natural stone. - On the town side, partly under the bridge and partly under the cutting, a semicircular brick casemate (ca. 1540) with three gun slits on the south-east side. The casemate is accessible via a vaulted stairway and is furnished with two ventilation shafts built up to above the ground covering. - On the town side of the Goorpoort remains of the medieval fortification, namely a roundel in line with the Smeesteeg and approximately 8 m. high wall approximately 35 m. long between that roundel and the Beekstraat and likewise approximately 20 m. long between the Beekstraat and the Bloemsteeg. - Preceding ditch approximately 25 m. wide near the gate, widening to approximately 30 m. near the bastions.
