Omschrijving
STADHUIS. Gebouwd midden vijftiende eeuw. 1821 vrijwel onherkenbaar gemoderniseerd, in 1844 achter een gevel gebracht met het voormalig Wijnhuis (1448-'49) en 1863-'67 samengetrokken met vroegere Meenthuis (1448), Raadhuis toren (1448-'52) en de school (1443-'45). De achtergevels hebben onder de pleister nog een stuk laatgotische architectuur. Raadzaal uit 1448 met balkzoldering op sleutelstukken 1447 gebeeldhouwd door mr Johan van Campen. Gotische schouw met gesmede luchters en vier muurkastjes met gesneden deurtjes 1449. Twee laatgotische kaarsenkronen, afkomstig uit de Grote Kerk. Schoorsteenstuk: laatste oordeel, uit 1606 door onbekende meester in lijst uit de tijd. Description
TOWN HALL. Built mid-fifteenth century. In 1821 modernized beyond recognition, in 1844 put behind a gable with the former Wine House (1448-'49) and in 1863-'67 merged with the former Commons House (1448), Town Hall tower (1448-'52) and the school (1443-'45). The rear gables still have under the plaster a piece of late Gothic architecture. Council chamber from 1448 with timber ceiling on keystones, carved in 1447 by Mr Johan van Campen. Gothic fireplace with wrought-iron lunettes and four wall cupboards with carved doors 1449. Two late Gothic candle crowns, from the Grote Kerk. Mantelpiece: Last Judgment, from 1606 by unknown master in frame from the period. Portraits of House of Orange from the third quarter of the seventeenth century or from the third quarter of the eighteenth century. In gilt frames.
