SMEEDIJZEREN HEK AAN DE VECHT OP BAKSTENEN DAM. Centraal op een dam opgemetseld met rode baksteen geplaatst smeedijzeren hek uit ca. 1755, dat toegang naar het huis aan de Vechtzijde biedt, bestaande uit een getoogd dubbel draaihek omlijst door twee vleugelstukken en een getoogd bovenstuk met voluutvormige krullen en bladranken in Lodewijk XV-stijl en met in het bovenstuk in verguld smeedijzeren letters: GOUDESTEIN.
De beide vleugelstukken aan weerszijden worden aan de zijkanten en aan de bovenzijde door smeedijzeren voluutvormige krullen en bladranken beëindigd. Het hek en vleugelstukken zijn van tralies voorzien.
De vleugelstukken zijn geplaatst op een hardstenen sokkel, die op een aan weerszijden van de dam gemetselde bakstenen fundament rust. Aan de zijkanten zwenkt dit fundament, dat met het metselwerk van de dam een geheel uitmaakt, naar onderen uit.
De keermuren van de 18e-eeuwse dam hebben een half-cirkelvormig verloop.

Description
WROUGHT-IRON GATE AT THE VECHT ON BRICK DAM. Centrally placed on a dam built up with red brick, a wrought-iron gate from c. 1755 that provides access to the house on the Vecht side, consisting of an arched double swing gate surrounded by two wing sections and an arched top section with volute-shaped scrolls and leaf sprays in Louis XV style and with in the top section in gilded wrought-iron letters: GOUDESTEIN.
Both wing sections on either side are terminated on the sides and at the top by wrought-iron volute-shaped scrolls and leaf sprays. The gate and wing sections are provided with railings.
The wing sections are placed on a hard stone base, which rests on a brick foundation built up on either side of the dam. On the sides this foundation, which forms one whole with the masonry of the dam, curves outward.
The retaining walls of the 18th-century dam have a semi-circular course.
