Uit 1879 daterende en tot 1943 als zodanig gebruikte, in schoon metselwerk opgetrokken, vijf traveeën lange SYNAGOGE onder met rode Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak tegen tuitgevels; met uitzondering van de meest oostelijke travee, tegen de lange gevels iets lagere zijbeuken onder met rode Hollandse pannen gedekte schilddaken, die gedeeltelijk doorlopen in het dak van het middenschip; gevels met hoekpilasters, geleed door lisenen en eenmaal versneden steunberen tegen de zijbeuken en afgesloten door (klimmend) boogfries; in de eindgevels van de middenbeuk (drie) en in zijbeuken (per travee één) op de verdieping rondboogvensters met ijzeren tracering en Davidster; in de geveltop aan de Dieserstraat ingemetselde tafelen met Tien Geboden.
In het interieur, boven de zijbeuken van de drie middelste traveeën de met tongewelf overkluisde vrouwengalerijen, die met grote rondbogen openen op het middenschip, dat overwelfd is door een geschilderd houten segmentbooggewelf. Het interieur werd ca. 1922 opnieuw geschilderd: plafond blauw met in het midden verguld, als zon met rondom stralen geschilderd ijzeren rooster; muren lichtgrijs met zwarte biesjes; bovenzijde van kolommen bruin, afgezet met Griekse rand. Onder de blauwe beschildering van het plafond de oorspronkelijke zeegroene beschildering met gouden schabloonlijsten.

Description
Dating from 1879 and used as such until 1943, constructed in fair ashlar, five-bay SYNAGOGUE under a hipped roof covered with red Dutch tiles against spout gables; with the exception of the easternmost bay, against the long facades slightly lower side aisles under hipped roofs covered with red Dutch tiles, which partly continue into the roof of the nave; facades with corner pilasters, articulated by lisenes and once interrupted buttresses against the side aisles and terminated by a (climbing) arch frieze; in the end facades of the nave (three) and in the side aisles (one per bay) on the storey semi-circular windows with iron tracery and Star of David; in the gable top at the Dieserstraat inlaid tablets with the Ten Commandments.
In the interior, above the side aisles of the three middle bays the barrel-vaulted women's galleries, which open with large semi-circular arches onto the nave, which is vaulted by a painted wooden segmental arch vault. The interior was repainted around 1922: ceiling blue with in the centre gilded, painted as a sun with radiating rays from the iron grating; walls light grey with black trim; upper side of columns brown, set off with Greek border. Beneath the blue painting of the ceiling the original sea-green painting with golden stencil borders.
