Hoeve van baksteen om gesloten binnenplaats, het geheel gesitueeerd aan de noordzijde van de Haagstraat te Merkelbeek. De oostelijke vleugel van de carré is het oudste en was in oorsprong een landarbeidershuisje dat in een latere fase aan de noordzijde met een schuur werd uitgebreid en met een poort aan de oostzijde. Sinds circa 1825 is de carrévorm tot stand gekomen. De carréhoeve is opgetrokken in donkerrode baksteen en wordt gedekt met zadeldaken. Het jaartalanker 1849 duidt op een verbouwing en heeft betrekking op het woonhuis aan de linkerzijde (west); in dat jaar werden voorgevel (zuid) en linker zijgevel (west) opnieuw opgetrokken. Eiken kapconstructie in de zuidoostelijke vleugel, iepenhout in de overige kapconstructies, met uitzondering van het hoofdhuis waar ook eiken is toegepast. Als gevolg van de ontstaansgeschiednis beschikt de carréhoeve over vier poorten.

Description
Farm of brick around enclosed courtyard, the whole situated on the north side of the Haagstraat in Merkelbeek. The eastern wing of the square is the oldest and was originally a farm labourer's cottage which at a later stage was expanded on the north side with a barn and with a gate on the east side. Since around 1825 the square form was created. The square-plan farm is constructed in dark red brick and is covered with saddle roofs. The year stone 1849 indicates a rebuilding and relates to the dwelling house on the left side (west); in that year the front gable (south) and left side gable (west) were reconstructed. Oak roof truss structure in the south-eastern wing, elm wood in the other roof truss structures, with the exception of the main house where oak is also used. As a result of the development history the square-plan farm has four gates.
