Omschrijving
ZONNEWIJZER. Hardstenen 17e- of vroeg 18e-eeuwse zonnewijzer, bestaande uit een rechthoekige door voluten geflankeerde steen met kuifstuk met gebeeldhouwde acanthusbladeren. In het kuifstuk de tekst:"BREVE ET IRREVOCABILE TEMPVS". Op de rechthoekige steen de zonnewijzerplaat met dierenriembogen en bijbehorende tekens. Cijfers en tekens van de dierenriem staan in een stenen lint, dat om de plaat gedrapeerd is. De wijzer, die uit een verguld in reliëf gebeiteld zonnetje ontspringt, wordt door een driehoekige verguld ijzeren stijl gevormd. De zonnewijzer is een bouwfragment van het reeds enkele eeuwen geleden afgebroken slot Toutenburg en staat sinds de 19e eeuw in het park van Vijversburg opgesteld.

Description
SUNDIAL. A 17th- or early 18th-century hardstone sundial, consisting of a rectangular stone flanked by volutes with a cove moulding with carved acanthus leaves. In the cove moulding the text: "BREVE ET IRREVOCABILE TEMPVS". On the rectangular stone the sundial plate with zodiacal arcs and corresponding signs. Numerals and signs of the zodiac stand in a stone band, which is draped around the plate. The pointer, which springs from a gilt relief-engraved sun motif, is formed by a triangular gilt iron style. The sundial is an architectural fragment from the castle Toutenburg, which was demolished several centuries ago, and has been set up in the park of Vijversburg since the 19th century.
