Omschrijving

Description
NORTHERN OUTBUILDING, which, with its rear facade just as at the southern outbuilding, is located on the building line of the front facade of the main building. It is connected to the main building by a wall (containing a passage door). This outbuilding (containing a dwelling) forms with the main building and the southern outbuilding a historic and architectural ensemble, which is iconologically characteristic of the arrangement of buildings in the core of a 17th- or 18th-century country estate. The two-storey brick outbuilding was built in the last decade of the 18th century. It is provided with a surrounding hipped roof covered with blue Frisian ridge tiles from 1872, which was installed at that time as a replacement for a higher hipped roof. Front (west) facade at ground floor level is articulated in five bays with at the centre a semicircular double door in rectangular surround. On either side two late 18th-century sash windows with 40-pane glazing and two single doors with semicircular fanlights with curved glazing bars in a rectangular frame at the outer sides. The centrally located door section is provided with a surround of pilasters and a cornice and is crowned on first-floor level by a door with volute-shaped plasterwork on either side. Door and surround were installed in 1872 as a replacement for a window and a tympanum above the central door section. On either side of the door at first-floor level four low sash windows with 6-pane glazing. South facade: articulated in three bays with centrally placed a door with fanlight, identical to the doors at the outer sides of the front facade. On either side two sash windows with 9-pane glazing below the relieving lintel and a glazing pattern above the relieving lintel identical to the fanlight of the door with curved glazing bars. At first-floor level three low sash windows with 6-pane glazing. The front and south facades of the northern outbuilding and the connecting wall with the main building are provided with a bushammered 19th-century plaster layer.
