WAAG.
Smal, rechthoekig bakstenen gebouw met verdieping en schilddak, ontworpen door C. van Leeuwen en gebouwd van 1796 tot 1798. De voorgevel aan de Markt heeft een getoogde inrijpoort, geflankeerd door twee hardstenen, Dorische pilasters, die een hoofdgestel dragen, waarboven een gesneden Justitiabeeld. Het vertrek boven de Waagruimte heeft twee vensters, waarin sinds een recente restauratie 15-ruitsschuiframen. De gevel wordt bekroond door een houten kroonlijst met in het fries triglyphen en metopen, waarboven een fronton met door guirlandes omgeven stadswapen. Inwendig een aan de zoldering hangende weegschaal uit ca. 1800.

Description
WEIGH HOUSE.
Small, rectangular brick building with one storey and hipped roof, designed by C. van Leeuwen and built from 1796 to 1798. The front facade on the Markt has an arched carriage entrance, flanked by two sandstone Doric pilasters, which carry an entablature, above which a carved Justice figure. The room above the weigh house space has two windows, which since a recent restoration contain 15-pane sash windows. The facade is crowned by a wooden cornice with triglyphs and metopes in the frieze, above which a pediment with the municipal coat of arms surrounded by garlands. Internally a weighing scale hanging from the ceiling dating from around 1800.
