Omschrijving
Markant midden in het dorp gelegen ZAALKERKJE met neoclassicistische ingangspartij, gebouwd in 1841 op last van de Staten van Drenthe.
Eenvoudig uit baksteen opgetrokken eenbeukig KERKGEBOUW onder met pannen belegd driezijdig schilddak met piron tegen rechte voorgevel met eenvoudig geprofileerde gootlijst, vlechtingen en staafankers; eenvoudig uurwerk; opengewerkte dakruiter met ingesnoerde naaldspits met haan. Aardige houten ingangspartij in de vorm van een door pilasters gedragen fronton met in het timpaan het jaartal 1841 en bewerkte deurnaald. In de zijgevel en het koor rondboogramen met gotiserende traceringen.
In het door een gepleisterd tongewelf overdekte sobere INTERIEUR zijn van belang het contemporaine meubilair omvattende onder andere een zeshoekige kansel met geprofileerde friezen, klankbord en doopbekken van koper en smeedijzer, de (geverfde) grenen banken, zes psalm- en gezangborden, het offerblok en het op een houten balustrade rustende orgel met drietorenfront en (Jugendstil) lampenhouder, beide uit 1911. Het instrument is vervaardigd door orgelbouwer J. Doornbos uit Groningen; de kas, met snijwerk en vazen, door J. Dekker GZN. uit Goes. Op de witmarmeren plaat onder de middelste toren het opschrift: "Geschenk/van/H.Meyring/en/H.G.Meyring-Homan/ter gelegenheid van hunne/50 jarige echtvereeniging/5 september 1910". Mechanisch torenuurwerk Gebr. van Bergen, Midwolda, 1942, nr. 338, later voorzien van electrische opwinding. Eerste helft 19e eeuws (1841) zaalkerkje van algemeen architectuur- en cultuurhistorisch belang wegens:
-de sobere, maar verzorgde architectonische kwaliteit
-de eenheid van ex- en interieur
-de waardevolle interieur-onderdelen

Description
Striking SMALL CHAPEL CHURCH located in the middle of the village with neoclassical entrance section, built in 1841 by order of the States of Drenthe.
A simple brick-built single-aisle CHURCH BUILDING under a three-sided hipped roof laid with tiles with a ridge tile against a straight front facade with simply moulded gutter line, brick nogging and stone anchors; simple clock face; open-work roof turret with tapered spire with weathervane. A nice wooden entrance section in the form of a pediment supported by pilasters with the year 1841 in the tympanum and decorative door nail. In the side gable and the choir round-arch windows with Gothic tracery.
In the sober INTERIOR covered by a plastered barrel vault, the following are of importance: contemporary furnishings including among others a hexagonal pulpit with moulded friezes, sounding board and baptismal font of copper and wrought iron, the (painted) pine pews, six psalm and hymn boards, the collection box and the organ resting on a wooden balustrade with three-tower front and (Art Nouveau) lamp holder, both from 1911. The instrument was made by organ builder J. Doornbos from Groningen; the case, with carving and vases, by J. Dekker GZN. from Goes. On the white marble plate beneath the central tower the inscription: "Gift/of/H.Meyring/and/H.G.Meyring-Homan/on the occasion of their/50 years of marriage/5 September 1910". Mechanical tower clock Gebr. van Bergen, Midwolda, 1942, no. 338, later fitted with electric winding. First half 19th century (1841) small chapel church of general architectural and cultural-historical significance due to:
