NEDERLANDS HERVORMDE KERK, eertijds KAPITTELKERK. Groots van opzet, onvoltooide kruisbasiliek. Koor verdwenen. Bouw in het laatst van de vijftiende eeuw aangevangen. Zuiderzijbeuk van een oudere periode. Toren met rijke behandeling, bleef tot tweede geleding onvoltooid. De kerk bezit een schilderij van omstreeks 1500 het ontwerp van de toren weergevend. Inwendig gedeelte steen overwelfd, kapitelen met bladornamenten. In de noorderzijbeuk overblijfselen van koorgestoelten tot herenbanken vertimmerd. a. Hoofdorgel. Van oorsprong orgel met Hoofdwerk en Borstwerk, in 1619 gemaakt door A. Kiespenning. In 1717 gewijzigd door M. Verhofstad. In 1819 verving J.C. Friedrichs het Borstwerk door een Rugpositief. Bij de restauratie in 1980 is de toestand-1717 hersteld en werd het orgel uitgebreid met een vrij Pedaal. b. Koororgel. Het Rugpositief dat in 1819 aan het Hoofdorgel door Friederichs werd toegevoegd, werd in 1980 omgebouwd tot een eenklaviers koororgel. Description
DUTCH REFORMED CHURCH, formerly CHAPTER CHURCH. Grand in conception, unfinished cruciform basilica. Choir disappeared. Construction commenced in the late fifteenth century. South side aisle of an older period. Tower with rich treatment, remained unfinished to second storey. The church possesses a painting of around 1500 depicting the design of the tower. Interior part stone vaulted, capitals with leaf ornaments. In the north side aisle remains of choir stalls converted into gentlemen's pews. a. Main organ. Originally organ with Great Work and Brustwerk, made in 1619 by A. Kiespenning. In 1717 modified by M. Verhofstad. In 1819 J.C. Friedrichs replaced the Brustwerk with a Rückpositiv. At the restoration in 1980 the condition of 1717 was restored and the organ was extended with a free Pedal. b. Choir organ. The Rückpositiv which in 1819 was added to the Main organ by Friederichs, was in 1980 converted into a single-manual choir organ. Bell frame with peal of four bells, consisting of a bell by W. van Wou, 1506, diameter 163, a bell by H. de Borch, 1519, diameter 143 centimetres, a bell by an anonymous founder, 1515, diameter 112 centimetres and a bell by J.A. de Grave, 1717, diameter 86 centimetres.
