Omschrijving
Voorwerk aan de rijksgrens bij voormalig Abeltjeshuis; plm 800 m. lange wal met kreupelhout begroeid, waarvoor een gracht. Aan de buitenzijde twee hardstenen grenspalen, nr 181 en 182 van de grens Nederland-Pruisen, aangegeven door letters N en P. ter weerszijden, resp. E.P.N. en R.B.F.N. op nr 182. Het voorwerk was door dijken met de vesting verbonden waardoor een waterlinie ontstaan kon. De resten van de dijken tussen dit Retranchement en de vesting te beschermen.

Description
Outwork at the national border near former Abeltjeshuis; approximately 800 m. long embankment covered with scrubland, in front of which a moat. On the outside two hard stone boundary markers, nos. 181 and 182 of the border Netherlands-Prussia, indicated by letters N and P respectively, E.P.N. and R.B.F.N. on no. 182. The outwork was connected to the fortification by dykes whereby a water line could be created. The remains of the dykes between this Retranchement and the fortification to be protected.
