Omschrijving
Stadhuis, behoudens enkele restanten uit midden XVI, in 1597-1601 opgetrokken door Willem van Bommel uit Emmerik; de voorgevel geflankeerd door achtkantige torens van ongelijke hoogte en met open koepeldakjes. In 1609 nieuwe trappen en bordes toegevoegd. Gemoderniseerd XVIII. In 1880 e.v. voor en opzij in neo-renaissancestijl vernieuwd en voorzien van arkeltorentjes aan de achterzijde. Gerestaureerd 1956-'57 waarbij het interieur zeer ingrijpend is gewijzigd. Nog aanwezig zijn: baldakijn, gerestaureerde klok in de raadszaal; luidklok 1494 en luidklok 1513.

Description
Town Hall, apart from some remains from mid 16th century, built in 1597-1601 by Willem van Bommel from Emmerik; the front facade flanked by octagonal towers of unequal height and with open dome roofs. In 1609 new stairs and landing added. Modernised 18th century. From 1880 onwards renewed to the front and side in neo-Renaissance style and provided with small arch towers at the rear. Restored 1956-'57 when the interior was very drastically altered. Still present are: baldachin, restored clock in the council chamber; bell 1494 and bell 1513.
