Omschrijving
Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Gorinchem, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken en bijbehorende bebouwing en objecten zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg is een onderdeel van de zuidelijke verdedigingswal van Gorinchem en omvat een bastion (bastion VI).
Op het terreplein van het bastion bevindt zich een gemetselde affuitloods. In het terreplein bevindt zich een duikersluis/spuisluis. Deze verbond de Binnenvestgracht met de Merwede, onder het voormalig Tolhuis, de affuitloods en Waterpoort door.

Description
Segment of fortification work of Gorinchem fortress, forming part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The work consists of an earthwork installation and associated buildings and objects as named below.
The installation forms part of the southern defensive wall of Gorinchem and comprises a bastion (bastion VI).
On the terreplein of the bastion there is a brick affuit shed. In the terreplein there is a culvert lock/sluice gate. This connected the Binnenvestgracht with the Merwede, passing under the former Tolhuis, the affuit shed and Waterpoort.
