Omschrijving
Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Gorinchem, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken, gracht en bijbehorende bebouwing en objecten zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg is een onderdeel van de zuidelijke verdedigingswal van Gorinchem en omvat een bastion (bastion V) en natte gracht gelegen voor het bastion.
Tegen de rechterface van het bastion bevindt zich, in de natte gracht (Duivelsgracht) een gemetselde stenen beer. In het bastion bevindt zich een grondgedekt, gemetseld, klein buskruitmagazijn.

Description
Segment of defensive work of fortification Gorinchem, part of the New Holland Water Line. The work consists of an installation of earthworks, moat and associated buildings and objects as named hereafter.
The installation is part of the southern defensive wall of Gorinchem and comprises a bastion (bastion V) and wet moat located before the bastion.
Against the right face of the bastion is located, in the wet moat (Duivelsgracht), a masoned stone cutwater. In the bastion is located an earth-covered, masoned, small powder magazine.
