Omschrijving
Gepleisterd bakstenen HERENHUIS met een bouwlaag en kapverdieping onder pannen schilddak met aanluiving aan de noordzijde, genaamd villa Rote en in oorsprong gebouwd aan Overtoom 56 doch in 1990 met gebruikmaking van de oorspronkelijke onderdelen verplaatst naar de Gouw, eveneens te Westzaan.
Aan de zuidzijde een lijstgevel met hoeklisenen, eindigend in gebeeldhouwde consoles en een hoger middenrisaliet met halsgevel, voorzien van rijk gebeeldhouwde vleugelstukken - de Dag en de Nacht voorstellend - en een gebogen bekroning, waaronder een reliëf met Mercurius.
Tussen het zoldervenster en de pilasteromlijsting van de voordeur bevindt zich een zonnewijzersteen in Lodewijk XIV-stijl, met opschrift de tekst van psalm 127 vers 1 en ANNO 1729.

In alle gevels schuifvensters met kleine roedenverdeling (twaalf- of negenruits). In de westgevel voorts twee ovale venstertjes in gebeeldhouwde omlijstingen.
Inwendig ondermeer de in oorsprong 18e-eeuwse gangbetimmering, wandbekleding, balkenplafonds der beide voorkamers (zuidzijde), tooglijst in Lodewijk XVI-stijl in linkervoorkamer en hoekkasten, gesneden trap; voorts een gebeeldhouwde schouw en een uit een ander Zaans pand afkomstige smuiger met mangaankleurige figuurtegels.

Description
Plastered brick MANOR HOUSE with one storey and roof storey beneath tiled hipped roof with lean-to on the north side, named villa Rote and originally built at Overtoom 56 but relocated in 1990 using the original components to de Gouw, also in Westzaan.
On the south side a cornice-topped facade with corner mouldings, ending in carved consoles and a higher central risalite with neck gavel, furnished with richly carved wing pieces – representing Day and Night – and a curved crowning, beneath which a relief with Mercury.
Between the attic window and the pilaster frame of the front door is a sundial stone in Louis XIV style, with inscription containing the text of Psalm 127 verse 1 and ANNO 1729.

In all gables sash windows with small glazing bars (twelve- or nine-light). In the west gable furthermore two small oval window-panes in carved frames.
Internally amongst other things the originally 18th-century gang panelling, wall covering, beamed ceilings of both front rooms (south side), cornice moulding in Louis XVI style in left front room and corner cupboards, carved staircase; furthermore a carved chimney breast and a muntin window with manganese-coloured figure tiles from another Zaans building.
