Omschrijving
Nicolaikerk, Ned. Hervormd en Nicolaitoren. Hallenkerk. Steen overwelfd, omtrent 1150 gebouwd. Ontstaan uit 12e eeuwse tufsteen, kruisbasiliek. Westgevel met twee torens. Koperen zuidwijzer. In Noordertoren klokkenstoel met klok van W. Wegewaert, 1573, diam. 121,5 cm. Klokkenspel, bestaande uit 23 klokken van François en Pieter Hemony, gegoten in 1649-1651, en 20 moderne klokken. Trommelspeelwerk uit ca. 1589. Hoofdorgel met drie manualen en pedaal gebouwd door Marcussen & Son in 1956. Dit orgel is een van de belangrijkste orgels uit de Wederopbouw-periode. Het tweede Marcussen-orgel in deze kerk werd in 1953 gebouwd voor de NCRV-studio. Door de radiouitzendingen waarin dit orgel te horen was werd de voor Nederland geheel nieuwe bouwstijl van de firma Marcussen landelijk bekend.

Nicolai Church, Dutch Reformed and Nicolai Tower. Hall church. Stone vaulted, built around 1150. Originating from 12th-century tufa stone, cruciform basilica. West facade with two towers. Copper south dial. In the North Tower a bell frame with a bell by W. Wegewaert, 1573, diam. 121.5 cm. Carillon consisting of 23 bells by François and Pieter Hemony, cast in 1649-1651, and 20 modern bells. Drum-playing mechanism from around 1589. Main organ with three manuals and pedal built by Marcussen & Son in 1956. This organ is one of the most important organs from the Reconstruction period. The second Marcussen organ in this church was built in 1953 for the NCRV studio. Through radio broadcasts in which this organ was heard, the building style of the Marcussen firm, which was entirely new for the Netherlands, became known nationwide.
