AMBTMANSHUIS.
In een houtrijke tuin op de hoek van de Achterweg gelegen pand, dat na restauratie in 1939 in gebruik genomen is als Polderhuis voor de Tielerwaard. Het gebouw bestaat uit: a. Twee parallel lopende vleugels, evenwijdig aan de Ambtmanstraat, gebouwd voor de Ambtman Adriaan van Bueren in 1525-1527. De vleugels dragen zadeldaken, aan de westzijde afgesloten door puntgevels; aan de oostzijde, die tevens de voorkant is, door topgevels met ingezwenkte zijkanten en bakstenen frontons. De lange gevels hebben houten kroonlijsten; in de noordgevel getoogde 18e eeuwse vensters, die evenals alle andere vensters zesdelige schuiframen bezitten. b. Op de zuid-oosthoek een aanbouw onder een zadeldak tussen puntgevels en met in de oostgevel vensters met kruiskozijnen en luiken, evenals de vierkante toren tegen de noordgevel daterend uit 1562-'63. De toren heeft kleine vensters in gebeeldhouwde renaissanceomlijstingen en een ingesnoerde spits met bekroning. c. Op de noord-oosthoek, naast de toren een aanbouw met gebogen voorgevel, afgedekt door een houten kroonlijst en een schilddak dragend, begin 18e eeuw. Inwendig heeft het onderkelderde gebouw op de verdieping een zaal met moerbalken op peerkraalsleutelstukken, bij de restauratie naar een nog bewaard authentiek exemplaar gecopieerd. In deze zaal voorts een schouw van eikehout, tweede helft 17e eeuw. Voorhal met stucwerk in Lodewijk XV-vormen door Rieff en twee kamers met stucplafonds in dezelfde stijl. Voorts een Lodewijk XIV-schouw; twee dessus-de-portes, eerste kwart 18e eeuw; een keukenschouw en gesneden keukenkast, eerste kwart 18e eeuw; alsmede een kamer met schouw en stucplafond uit het midden der 19e eeuw. Langs de Ambtmanstraat en een gedeelte van de Achterweg een smeedijzeren hek met gemetselde hekpijlers, waarop Lodewijk XIV-bekroningen. Voor de hekpijlers aan de Ambtmanstraat twee kanonslopen als schamppalen.

Building set in a tree-rich garden at the corner of the Achterweg, which after restoration in 1939 was taken into use as a Polder House for the Tielerwaard. The building consists of: a. Two parallel wings, parallel to the Ambtmanstraat, built for the Official Adriaan van Bueren in 1525-1527. The wings have gabled roofs, closed on the west side by pointed gables; on the east side, which is also the front, by topped gables with curved-in sides and brick pediments. The long facades have wooden cornices; in the north facade arched 18th century windows, which like all other windows have six-part sash windows. b. On the south-east corner an extension under a gabled roof between pointed gables and with cross windows and shutters in the east facade, as well as the square tower against the north facade dating from 1562-'63. The tower has small windows in carved Renaissance surrounds and a tapered spire with finial. c. On the north-east corner, next to the tower an extension with curved front facade, finished with a wooden cornice and carrying a hipped roof, early 18th century. Internally the cellared building has on the storey a hall with roof beams on pear-keel keystones, copied at restoration from an authentic example still preserved. In this hall furthermore an oak chimney-piece, second half 17th century. Entrance hall with stucco-work in Louis XV forms by Rieff and two rooms with stucco ceilings in the same style. Furthermore a Louis XIV chimney-piece; two over-door paintings, first quarter 18th century; a kitchen chimney-piece and carved kitchen cupboard, first quarter 18th century; as well as a room with chimney-piece and stucco ceiling from the mid 19th century. Along the Ambtmanstraat and part of the Achterweg a wrought-iron railing with masonry railing piers, topped with Louis XIV finials. In front of the railing piers on the Ambtmanstraat two cannon barrels as chamfered bollards.
