Omschrijving
Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Naarden, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken met natte gracht en bijbehorende bebouwing zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg vormt een onderdeel van de verdedigingswerken rond Naarden en omvat een bastion en voorliggende natte gracht.
Op het bastion (bekend als bastion Oranje) bevinden zich:
- Een bomvrije kazerne Oranje (gebouw G). Een poterne verbindt het gebouw met de belendende bomvrije gebouw (gebouw H);
- Een bomvrij bouwwerk (gebouw H), met onder meer munitiemagazijnen en logiesruimten. Aan de saillantzijde bevinden zich drie mortierkazematten. Een poterne verbindt het gebouw met de Oranjekazerne (gebouw G);
- Een bomvrij bouwwerk (gebouw I), met buskruitmagazijn en kanonremise;
- Bomvrije kanonkelders en kruitkelder, toegankelijk door twee poternes (gebouw K);
- Kanonkelders, in de rechter lage flank van het bastion (gebouw L).
In de voorliggende natte gracht bevindt zich een gemetselde stenen beer (bekend als de Oostbeer). De beer maakt deel uit van de doorgaande waterkering van Zuiderzee/IJsselmeer.

Description
Segment of fortified work vesting Naarden, forming part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The work consists of a layout of earthworks with wet moat and associated structures as named below.
The layout forms part of the fortifications surrounding Naarden and comprises a bastion and adjoining wet moat.
On the bastion (known as bastion Oranje) are situated:
- A bombproof barracks Oranje (building G). A postern connects the building with the adjoining bombproof building (building H);
- A bombproof structure (building H), with among other things ammunition magazines and quarters. On the salient side are three mortar casemates. A postern connects the building with the Oranje barracks (building G);
- A bombproof structure (building I), with gunpowder magazine and gun remise;
- Bombproof gun cellars and powder cellar, accessible through two posterns (building K);
- Gun cellars, in the right low flank of the bastion (building L).
In the adjoining wet moat is a masonry stone boom (known as the East boom). The boom forms part of the continuous water barrier of the Zuiderzee/IJsselmeer.
