Voormalige "Oude Vissershaven" (thans Passantenhaven).
Terzijde van de Grote Kerk gelegen voormalige OUDE VISSERSHAVEN, ontstaan in 1823 door verbreding en uitdieping van de gracht rond de voormalige bisschoppelijke burcht "Het Olde Huijs" en, na reconstructie eind zestiger jaren, ingericht tot Passantenhaven.
Aan de middeleeuwse situatie herinneren nog de enigszins ovale vorm van de huidige havenkom, het restant van het eiland waarop Het Olde Huijs eens stond (dat overigens omstreeks 1830 in gebruik was als gevangenis, vervolgens als katoenspinnerij en, na gedeeltelijke afbraak omstreeks 1854, nog als onderkomen voor Schoklander vissers) en de aanwezigheid van een thans in het talud opgenomen (ijs?)kelder aan de voet van de Grote Kerk.
Restanten van het hoog gelegen terrein en de vroegere omgrachting van de middeleeuwse bisschoppelijke burcht "Het Olde Huijs", hoewel in de eerste helft van de 19e eeuw tot vissershaven ingericht en thans fungerend als Passantenhaven, van belang wegens de geschiedkundige herinnering in de ruimste zin aan deze bisschoppelijke burcht en zijn verdere geschiedenis.

Former "Old Fishermen's Harbour" (now Passenger Harbour).
Former OLD FISHERMEN'S HARBOUR situated beside the Great Church, created in 1823 through widening and deepening of the moat around the former episcopal castle "Het Olde Huijs" and, after reconstruction in the late sixties, converted into a Passenger Harbour.
The medieval situation is still recalled by the somewhat oval shape of the current harbour basin, the remnant of the island on which Het Olde Huijs once stood (which incidentally was in use around 1830 as a prison, subsequently as a cotton mill and, after partial demolition around 1854, still as accommodation for Schoklander fishermen) and the presence of a (ice?) cellar now incorporated into the slope at the foot of the Great Church.
