MUREN EN TRAPPEN MET BEELDEN EN BOLLEN VAN HET VOORPLEIN. Rondom het voorplein bakstenen walmuren (aan de noordzijde) en keermuren (aan de west- en zuidzijde), in oorsprong nog daterende van voor de verwoesting van het kasteel in 1673, waarin aan de noord- en westzijde toegangen naar een kelder onder het voorplein.
Deze muren bekroond door bakstenen, door pijlers met natuurstenen dekplaten gelede borstweringen, die via concave verhogingen aansluiten bij de pijlers van de poort en de doorgang tegen de uiteinden van stal en en koetshuis c.a. en aan de westzijde worden onderbroken door een stelsel van drie aaneengesloten trappen, waarvan de middelste omhoog leidt naar de bovenste verdieping van de brug naar het hoofdgebouw en de zijtrappen omlaag voeren naar het pad onderlangs het voorplein; de trappen zijn gevat tussen vier bakstenen pijlers met dekplaten, waarvan de buitenste worden bekroond door zandstenen bollen en de binnenste door zandstenen beelden, voorstellende allegorische vrouwenfiguren (waarschijnlijk 1678).

Description
WALLS AND STAIRS WITH STATUES AND ORNAMENTS OF THE FORECOURT. Around the forecourt brick rampart walls (on the north side) and retaining walls (on the west and south sides), in their origin still dating from before the destruction of the castle in 1673, in which on the north and west sides passages lead to a cellar beneath the forecourt.
These walls crowned by brick, divided by pillars with natural stone capping plates, crenellated parapets, which connect via concave heightenings to the pillars of the gate and passage against the ends of stable and coach house c.a. and on the west side are interrupted by a system of three adjoining stairs, of which the middle one leads upwards to the upper storey of the bridge to the main building and the side stairs lead downwards to the path along the forecourt; the stairs are set between four brick pillars with capping plates, of which the outer ones are crowned by sandstone spheres and the inner ones by sandstone statues, representing allegorical female figures (probably 1678).
