Monumentaal PATRICIERSHUIS, gebouwd in 1803-1804 voor de fabrikant C. Nolet naar ontwerp van C.J.P. Giudici. Bakstenen lijstgevel met natuurstenen hoekblokken, gebosseerde sokkelverdieping en met natuursteen beklede middenrisaliet, waarvoor hoog, natuurstenen bordes met smeedijzeren balustrade. Getoogde deuromlijsting met bekronende Mercuriuskop temidden van vruchtentrossen en acanthusconsoles. Authentieke deuren met gesneden kalf en bovenlicht. De bovenvensters van de middenrisaliet hebben een eenvoudige, natuurstenen en geprofileerde omlijsting. Alle vensters hebben hardstenen dorpels en late schuiframen. Voor het huis hoge, getorste hoekpalen met smeedijzeren lantaarns. Links van het huis een inrijpoort, waarvan de hekpijlers door Lod. XVI siervazen bekroond worden. Description
Monumental PATRICIAN HOUSE, built in 1803-1804 for manufacturer C. Nolet according to design by C.J.P. Giudici. Brick cornice-topped facade with natural stone corner blocks, rusticated basement storey and with natural stone clad central risalit, in front of which high, natural stone entrance platform with wrought iron balustrade. Arched door surround with crowning Mercury head amid fruit garlands and acanthus consoles. Authentic doors with carved calf and fanlight. The upper windows of the central risalit have simple, natural stone and moulded surrounds. All windows have hardstone sills and late sash windows. In front of the house high, twisted corner posts with wrought iron lamps. To the left of the house an entrance gateway, of which the gate piers are crowned by Louis XVI ornamental vases. Interior: marble corridor with panelling, carved stair rail, rooms with stucco ceilings, marble mantlepieces, carved doors and friezes with stucco work, all in refined Louis XVI style. Large back room, of which the walls are articulated by double half-columns and pilasters, showpiece of decorative art in transitional forms Louis XVI-empire.
