Omschrijving
Ned. Herv. KERK of St. Michaelskerk. Uit de verbouwing van een gotische kruiskerk in de 15e eeuw ontstane hallenkerk van drie beuken, overdekt door houten tongewelven. In het schip bakstenen zuilen met lijstkapitelen; in het veelhoekig gesloten koor, dat door recht gesloten nevenkoren geflankeerd wordt, zuilen met bladkapitelen in trachiet. Aan de zuidzijde van het koor een sacristie, eerste kwart 16e eeuw, overdekt door ster- en netgewelven. Tot de inventaris behoren: een eikehouten preekstoel in renaissancevormen, eerste helft 17e eeuw, afkomstig uit de Nieuwe Kerk te Dordrecht; een natuurstenen gotische doopvont, 15e eeuw; een epitaaf voor R. Snellius van Royen, 1613. Orgel met Hoofdwerk, Bovenwerk en vrij Pedaal. in 1840 gemaakt door de firma Kam en Van der Meulen. De kas werd gemaakt door A. Meere in 1839 en verscheidene grafzerken uit de 15e, 16e en 17e eeuw. In de kerk houten frame met buiten gebruik gestelde klokken: 11 klokken gemaakt door G. Description
Dutch Reformed CHURCH or St. Michael's Church. From the remodelling of a Gothic cruciform church in the 15th century resulted a hall church of three aisles, covered by wooden barrel vaults. In the nave brick columns with list capitals; in the polygonally closed choir, flanked by straight-closed side choirs, columns with leaf capitals in trachyte. On the south side of the choir a vestry, first quarter of the 16th century, covered by star and net vaults. The inventory includes: an oak pulpit in Renaissance forms, first half of the 17th century, from the New Church at Dordrecht; a natural stone Gothic font, 15th century; an epitaph for R. Snellius van Royen, 1613. Organ with Great Work, Upper Work and free Pedal, made in 1840 by the firm Kam and Van der Meulen. The case was made by A. Meere in 1839 and various gravestones from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. In the church a wooden frame with disused bells: 11 bells made by G. Both, 1599/1601, 4 bells by Noorden & De Grave and 1 bell by C. Fremy.
