Omschrijving
Rooms Katholieke Kerk. Pseudobasiliek in zuiver Westfaalse Romano- gotiek uit het midden van de 13e eeuw. Koorsluiting en kapellen in de hoeken van koor en dwarsschip van 1491. Het hele gebouw is van Bentheimer steen opgetrokken. Het oudste deel is het schip, waarvan de middenbeuk twee en elk der zijbeuken vier traveeën telt. Dwarsschip iets later. Gewelven van schip en dwarsschip koepelvormig en voorzien van sierribben. Rechthoekige koortravee ook nog 13e eeuws. De zware Zandstenen toren aan de westzijde in 1842 gesloopt en vervangen door een houten torentje op het dak. Belangrijke inventaris. Orgel met Hoofdwerk, Onderpositief en Pedaal, in 1814 gemaakt door F.F. Epmann. Deze orgelmaker uit Essen maakte gebruik van ouder pijpwerk. Mechanisch torenuurwerk, Korfhage & Söhne, Buer, 1942. Description
Roman Catholic Church. Pseudo-basilica in pure Westphalian Romano-Gothic from the middle of the 13th century. Choir closure and chapels in the corners of choir and transept from 1491. The entire building is constructed of Bentheimer stone. The oldest part is the nave, of which the central aisle comprises two and each of the side aisles four bays. Transept slightly later. Vaults of nave and transept are domed and furnished with ornamental ribs. Rectangular choir bay also 13th century. The heavy sandstone tower on the west side demolished in 1842 and replaced by a wooden turret on the roof. Important furnishings. Organ with Great, Choir and Pedal, made in 1814 by F.F. Epmann. This organ builder from Essen made use of older pipework. Mechanical tower clock, Korfhage & Söhne, Buer, 1942. In 1997 restored and provided with synchronisation.
