Omschrijving
KERKBOOG.
Dubbele, overwelfde poortdoorgang in overgangsvormen tussen late gotiek en renaissance gebouwd in 1542-'45 door Claes die Waele als onderdeel van de Lakenhal. Verdieping gebouwd in 1605 in de op Vredeman de Vries geïnspireerde renaissancetrant onder zadeldak met aan de Marktzijde een topgevel met in- en uitgezwenkte contouren en rolwerk aan de Kerkhofzijde een trapgevel met natuurstenen banden.
Veelhoekige traptoren naast de poortboog aan de kerkzijde.
Gerestaureerd in 1886 door Ir Weve en in 1951-'55 door Ir J.G. Deur.

Description
CHURCH ARCH.
Double, vaulted gateway passage built in transitional forms between late Gothic and Renaissance in 1542-'45 by Claes die Waele as part of the Cloth Hall. Storey built in 1605 in the Renaissance manner inspired by Vredeman de Vries under gabled roof with on the Market side a top gable with inward and outward curved contours and scrollwork on the Churchyard side a stepped gable with natural stone bands.
Polygonal spiral staircase tower beside the gateway arch on the church side.
Restored in 1886 by Ir Weve and in 1951-'55 by Ir J.G. Deur.
