Omschrijving
Herv. kerk. Monumentale en goed bewaarde laatgotische kerk. Driebeukig, pseudobasilicaal schip met zesdelige kruisribgewelven over de middenbeuk. Eenbeukig, rijzig koor met driezijdige sluiting; tegen de zuidzijde van het koor in het verlengde van de zijbeuk een kapel met stergewelf; tegen de noordzijde een sacristie en traptoren. Hoog aan de eerste steunbeer van het koor is een houten zonnewijzer geplaatst. Eerste steen voor het koor gelegd in 1461; de kerk vrijwel herbouwd na een stadsbrand in 1540. Op de 15e eeuwse torenromp een bovenbouw in statige Lodewijk XVI-vormen, 1774-'76. Uit deze tijd ook de toegangspoort met wapen in de westgevel van de toren.
De kerk bezit een buitengewoon fraai orgel uit het midden der 18e eeuw, waarvan de kas met Lodewijk XV-snijwerk is versierd en een klok in gesneden omlijsting draagt. Het instrument met Hoofdwerk en Rugwerk is in 1756 gemaakt door M. van Deventer. In fasen gerestaureerd in 1981-1988. Preekstoel en doophek uit 1789 door H.G. van Raan te Amsterdam. Gestoelte der ambtsjonkers Lod. XIV met gesneden leuning. Gave zerk van het geslacht van Renselaer, 1602. Tekstbord, XVII.
In de toren klokkenspel, bestaande uit 30 klokken gegoten door A.J. van den Gheyn (1776-1777), 3 door A. en H. Petit (1775), 1 door Taylor (1927) en 15 moderne klokken. Uur- en speelwerk G.W. Fischer (1779). Mechanisch torenuurwerk B. Eijsbouts, Asten, is buiten gebruik gesteld.

Description
Reformed church. Monumental and well-preserved late Gothic church. Three-aisled, pseudo-basilical nave with six-part cross-ribbed vaults over the central aisle. Single-aisled, soaring choir with three-sided closure; against the south side of the choir in the extension of the side aisle a chapel with star vault; against the north side a sacristy and stair tower. High on the first buttress of the choir a wooden sundial is installed. Foundation stone for the choir laid in 1461; the church largely rebuilt after a city fire in 1540. On the 15th-century tower base a superstructure in stately Louis XVI forms, 1774-'76. Also from this period the entrance portal with coat of arms in the west wall of the tower.
The church possesses an extraordinarily fine organ from the middle of the 18th century, whose case is decorated with Louis XV carving and bears a bell in carved moulding. The instrument with Great Work and Rückpositiv was made in 1756 by M. van Deventer. Restored in phases in 1981-1988. Pulpit and baptismal gate from 1789 by H.G. van Raan of Amsterdam. Seats of the officials Louis XIV with carved armrest. Well-preserved tombstone of the Van Renselaer family, 1602. Text board, XVII.
