The register's description
Omschrijving
Stadhuis.
Statig bouwwerk, gedateerd 1697, op rechthoekig plattegrond en bekroond door een omlopend schilddak met open koepeltorentje.
De eenvoudige, bakstenen gevels hebben kroonlijsten, die op de hoeken gekornist zijn boven gemetselde hoekdammen.
Smalle vensters met oude kozijnen, luiken en kleine roedenverdeling.
De voorgevel bezit een bordes met balusterhek, een eenvoudige deuromlijsting me pilasters, waarboven een venster, welks onderhelft wordt ingenomen door een rijk gesneden borstwering en aan weerszijden hiervan een wapen in cartouche.
Dakkapel met wijzerplaat.

Description
Town Hall.
Stately building, dated 1697, on a rectangular plan and crowned by a continuous hipped roof with open cupola tower.
The simple, brick facades have cornices, which are provided with cornicing on the corners above brick corner buttresses.
Narrow windows with original frames, shutters and small glazing bars.
The front facade has a flight of steps with balustraded gate, a simple door surround with pilasters, above which a window, whose lower half is taken up by a richly carved breast panel and on either side of this a coat of arms in cartouche.
Dormer with clock face.
The town hall, built on an arch over the Harbour, has at the rear a weigh house with recessed top gable.
