Omschrijving
LATIJNSE SCHOOL. Oorspronkelijk klooster van Bachten 's-Gravensteen, als zodanig opgeheven plm 1540. In 1593 reeds als school vermeld, verbeterd 1691 - memoriesteen in de voorgevel - in de moderne tijd aan de tuinzijde herhaaldelijk met nieuwe gedeelten uitgebreid. Het oude gedeelte vertoont aan de straatzijde een combinatie van rechte lijstgevels, oorspronkelijk baksteen met zandstenen banden, thans deels geverfde, deels gepleisterde gevel. XVI-XIX.

Description
LATIN SCHOOL. Originally a convent of Bachten 's-Gravensteen, abolished as such c. 1540. Already mentioned as a school in 1593, improved 1691 - memorial stone in the front facade - in modern times repeatedly extended on the garden side with new sections. The old part shows on the street side a combination of straight cornice-topped facades, originally brick with sandstone bands, now partly painted, partly rendered facade. 16th-19th century.
