Omschrijving
V.m. KLOVENIERSDOELEN. Breed gebouw uit 1607 van baksteen met aan de voorgevel overvloedige toevoeging van zandsteen. Hoofdverdieping door waterlijst van kelderverdieping gescheiden; drie siertopgevels voor met leien gedekt schilddak. Kruiskozijnen en sierankers. Van een traptoren, die aan de achterzijde tegen het langwerpig rechthoekige gebouw was aangebouwd, is in 1735 het bovenste deel afgebroken. Na plundering in 1787-1788 werd het gebouw afgestaan aan de V.O.C., 1795-1940 Militair Hospitaal. Gevel sterk gerestaureerd 1914-1919. Een zijpoort met rondboog en driehoekig fronton met beeldhouwwerk versierd, is in 1941 gesloopt. Inwendig een schouw met getorste marmeren kolommen en houten fries met krijgsattributen. Daaronder in de kelderverdieping een draaggewelf met gotisch maaswerk.

Description
F.m. KLOVENIERSDO ELEN. Broad building from 1607 of brick with abundant addition of sandstone at the front gable. Main storey separated from basement storey by drip moulding; three decorative gables at the front with slate-covered hipped roof. Cross windows and ornamental wall anchors. Of a stair tower, which was built against the rear of the elongated rectangular building, the upper part was demolished in 1735. After plundering in 1787-1788 the building was transferred to the V.O.C., 1795-1940 Military Hospital. Gable extensively restored 1914-1919. A side door with round arch and triangular pediment decorated with sculpture was demolished in 1941. Internally a fireplace with supporting marble columns and wooden frieze with military attributes. Below it in the basement storey a barrel vault with Gothic tracery.
