Omschrijving
Grenspaal nr 25 van Bentheimerzandsteen, voorzien van renaissanceschild met Andreaskruis en vuurslag (wapen der Bourgondische gewesten); deze grenspaal werd geplaatst naar aanleiding van een grenstractaat (1548) tussen Karel V en de Graaf van Bentheim. In beide zijden van de steen zijn later respectievelijk de letters -H- en -N- ingehakt, ter herinnering aan het grenstractaat "Meppen" (1824), gesloten tussen de Koninkrijken Nederland en Hannover.

Description
Boundary marker no. 25 of Bentheim sandstone, provided with a renaissance shield bearing a St. Andrew's cross and fire-steel (coat of arms of the Burgundian territories); this boundary marker was placed following a boundary treaty (1548) between Charles V and the Count of Bentheim. On both sides of the stone the letters -H- and -N- were later carved respectively, in remembrance of the boundary treaty "Meppen" (1824), concluded between the Kingdoms of the Netherlands and Hanover.
