Omschrijving
1. PAND met trapgevel, 1e helft 17e eeuw, pui en vensters later gewijzigd. Het pand is inwendig verheeld met het op de hoek staande winkelpand Stille Mare 1, dat niet is beschermd.
2. WINKELPUI met atelier van edelsmid. De pui is omstreeks 1925 aangebracht in opdracht van de juwelier P.J. van Kampenhout, wiens naam er nog op staat vermeld en is vervaardigd in een voor de bouwtijd karakteristieke, aan de Art Déco verwante stijl.
Omschrijving
Asymmetrische pui van hardsteen, hout en glas. Winkel-glasdeur met vier ramen tussen geprofileerde regels en aan de binnenzijde bevestigde raamijzers, in ondiep portiek met zich verjongende portiekwanden in het linker deel van de pui. Aan de bovenkant licht verspringende deurposten rustend op hardstenen neuten. Linker portiekwand voorzien van een ijzeren plaat, waarvan de functie niet duidelijk is. Links van de deur en rechts van het etalagevenster een - evenals de plint - zwart geverfde hardstenen hoekpenant. Uit twee vierkante ramen bestaand etalagevenster. In de bovendorpels van de etalagevensters en de bovenkant van de portiekopening de vermeldingen "EDELSMID", "GOUD", "ZILVER", "DIAMANT" en "PAARL" Uit drie rechthoekige segmenten bestaand bovenlicht, elk met symmetrische roedenverdeling en rechthoekige raampjes in diverse formaten. Houten bovenlichtomlijsting met cannelures en vlechtwerk in de bovenhoeken. In het midden van de lijst in goudkleurige letters de naam P.J. van Kampenhout. Asymmetrical shop front of hardstone, wood and glass. Shop glass door with four panes between moulded rails and internally fitted window bars, in a shallow portico with tapering portico walls in the left part of the front. At the top slightly recessed door posts resting on hardstone corbels. Left portico wall fitted with an iron plate, whose function is unclear. To the left of the door and to the right of the display window a - as is the plinth - black painted hardstone corner pendant. Display window consisting of two square panes. In the upper edges of the display windows and the top of the portico opening the inscriptions "GOLDSMITH", "GOLD", "SILVER", "DIAMOND" and "PEARL". Fanlight consisting of three rectangular segments, each with symmetrical glazing bars and rectangular panes in various sizes. Wooden fanlight frame with fluting and interlace work in the upper corners. In the middle of the frame in gold-coloured letters the name P.J. van Kampenhout. The shop front is crowned by a narrow, slightly projecting moulded cornice with small wooden consoles, quarter-round profile and covering of sculpted zinc.
Valuation
The shop front is of general cultural-historical importance
- as a characteristic expression of a development in shop architecture;
- because of its aesthetic qualities, special detailing and use of materials, as well as a good example of shop architecture in a building style characteristic of the interwar period;
- as a valuable component of a closed facade wall and as an element in the protected townscape;
- because of its recognisability and integrity.
