Omschrijving
HERVORMDE KERK. Ruime, laat-gotische kruiskerk met ingebouwde toren, omstreeks 1400, met latere klokkenverdieping en in de oostwand vroeg-gotisch muurwerk. Vijfzijdig gesloten koor, gewijd in 1453, met aan de noordzijde een iets oudere kapel. Dwarsschip tweede helft 15e eeuw; schip waarschijnlijk omstreeks 1511, waarvan de tweede en derde zijbeuktravee hoger zijn opgehaald met ezelsrugboogvormige topgevels, bekroond door bakstenen toppilasters. Inwendig ronde zuilen en houten gewelven met trekbalken. 18e eeuws portaal met koepeldak en smeedijzeren lantaarn in de hoek tussen zuiderdwarsarm en zuiderzijbeuk. Kerk en toren gerestaureerd 1936-'37. Tot de inventaris behoren: een rijk gesneden Lodewijk XV-PREEKSTOEL door Gerrit Schotsman te Amsterdam in 1765; houten lezenaar en, aan de trap van de kansel een koperen doopbekkenhouder; doophek, samengesteld uit 18e eeuwse panelen, afkomstig uit de St. Rosaliakerk te Rotterdam, een gesneden koorhek met pilasters, waarvan de schachten rijk snijwerk vertonen en houten balusters, omstreeks 1768: herenbank met overhuiving, gesneden in Lodewijk XV-vormen, omstreeks 1775: twee herenbanken met luifels omstreeks 1700 en twee banken met 17e eeuwse rugschotten; een rouwbord uit 1717 in gesneden omlijsting; vier kaarsenkronen, 17e of 18e eeuw; grafzerken, 17e of 18e eeuw en twee 18e eeuwse tafels in de consistoriekamer, alsmede enige offerblokken. Klokkenstoel met klok van J. van Bergen, 1948, diam. 97,5 cm. Mechanisch torenuurwerk van B. Eijsbouts. Op een zijbeuk van de kerk, zijde Dorpsstraat, is een houten zonnewijzer geplaatst.

Description
REFORMED CHURCH. Spacious, late-Gothic cruciform church with integrated tower, circa 1400, with later bell-storey and early-Gothic masonry in the east wall. Five-sided closed choir, consecrated in 1453, with a slightly older chapel on the north side. Transept second half of the 15th century; nave probably circa 1511, of which the second and third side aisle bays are raised with segmental arch-shaped gables, crowned by brick pilasters. Internally round columns and wooden vaults with roof trusses. 18th-century portal with dome roof and wrought-iron lantern at the corner between south transept arm and south aisle. Church and tower restored 1936-'37. The inventory includes: a richly carved Louis XV pulpit by Gerrit Schotsman in Amsterdam in 1765; wooden lectern and at the stairs of the pulpit a brass font stand holder; baptismal gate, assembled from 18th-century panels, originating from the St. Rosaliakerk in Rotterdam; a carved choir screen with pilasters, whose shafts display rich carving and wooden balusters, circa 1768: gentlemen's bench with canopy, carved in Louis XV forms, circa 1775: two gentlemen's benches with canopies circa 1700 and two benches with 17th-century back panels; a mourning board from 1717 in carved surround; four candle crowns, 17th or 18th century; gravestones, 17th or 18th century and two 18th-century tables in the vestry room, as well as some alms boxes. Bell frame with bell by J. van Bergen, 1948, diam. 97.5 cm. Mechanical tower clock by B. Eijsbouts. On a side aisle of the church, Dorpsstraat side, a wooden sundial has been placed.
