Omschrijving
KRUISKERK in neorenaissancetrant, gebouwd in 1886/1887 naar ontwerp van de Leidse architect H.J. Jesse. Het exterieur toont een zeer verzorgde baksteenarchitectuur met toepassing van natuurstenen sierdelen o.a. bij de puntgevels op de eindfacades, de portalen en de geblokte hoekpilasters. Ingebouwde toren met op de hoeken door obelisken gemarkeerde, balustrade en slank, stenen achtkant met ingezwenkte spits en topkoepeltje. Het witgepleisterde interieur heeft een ziende houten bekapping met korbelen en een integraal bewaarde inventaris in goed gesneden neorenaissancevormen, preekstoel met omtuining, gestoelten, banken en smeedijzeren lichtkronen. Orgelkas in 1822 door J.D. Nolting gemaakt voor de Broederkerk te Nijmegen. In 1887 naar Katwijk overgeplaatst en in gewijzigde vorm bewaard gebleven. Klokkenstoel met gelui bestaande uit een klok van W. Wegewaert, 1594, diam. 120,3 cm en een klok van een anonieme gieter, 1857, diam. 45,5 cm.

Description
CROSS CHURCH in neo-Renaissance style, built in 1886/1887 according to design by Leiden architect H.J. Jesse. The exterior shows very carefully executed brick architecture with application of natural stone decorative elements including at the pointed gables on the end facades, the portals and the rusticated corner pilasters. Built-in tower with on the corners marked by obelisks, balustrade and slender stone octagon with curved spire and slender roof cupola. The whitewashed interior has visible wooden roof covering with corbels and an integrally preserved inventory in well-carved neo-Renaissance forms, pulpit with balustrade, choir stalls, benches and wrought-iron light crowns. Organ case made in 1822 by J.D. Nolting for the Broederkerk in Nijmegen. In 1887 relocated to Katwijk and preserved in altered form. Bell tower with bells consisting of a bell by W. Wegewaert, 1594, diam. 120.3 cm and a bell by an anonymous founder, 1857, diam. 45.5 cm.
