Omschrijving
Een uit 1870 daterende MEEKRAPSTOOF. Gebouw van de meestoof genaamd "De Nijverheid". Blijkens memoriesteen in de voorgevel gesticht in het jaar 1871. Ook gedateerd in het ijzeren vaantje op de schoorsteen. Het vrijstaande gebouw heeft en verhoogde voorbouw en een achterdeel waarvan de wanden door 5 lisenen in partijen zijn verdeeld. het houdt de herinnering levend aan de eertijds voor Zeeland zo belangrijke meekrapcultuur en is bovendien een van de weinige specimina op Zuid-Beveland van de utiliteitsbouw in de neo-rondboogstijl plm 1870.

Description
A MADDER DYEWORKS dated 1870. Building of the madder works named "De Nijverheid". According to a memorial stone in the front facade founded in the year 1871. Also dated in the iron weathervane on the chimney. The free-standing building has a raised fore-section and a rear part whose walls are divided into sections by 5 pilaster strips. It preserves the memory of the madder culture once so important to Zeeland and is moreover one of the few specimens on South Beveland of utilitarian architecture in the neo-Romanesque style circa 1870.
