Omschrijving
Cellebroederspoort. Het bouwwerk, in oorsprong XVc, in 1617 door Thomas Berendsz in renaissance-trant gewijzigd, bestaat uit een rechthoekig middendeel onder wolfdak, op de flanken rond uitgebouwde zijtorens, die op de verdieping boven een boogfries geconstrueerd zijn op een plan dat een deel vormt van een veertienhoek en die door hoge spits toppen worden gedekt. Natuurstenen gebeeldhouwde sierdelen; de gevel aan de stadszijde wordt bekroond door een dakkapel met omlijsting; aan de hoek van de lijst op consoles twee gebeeldhouwde, schilddragende leeuwen; de gevel aan de landzijde kraagt boven de poortdoorgang over op geprofileerde consoles.

Description
Cellebroederspoort. The building, originally 15th century, modified in Renaissance style in 1617 by Thomas Berendsz, consists of a rectangular middle section under half-hipped roof, on the flanks round-built side towers, which on the storey above an arch frieze are constructed on a plan that forms part of a fourteen-sided polygon and which are covered by high pointed spires. Sculpted ashlar ornamental elements; the facade on the city side is crowned by a roof dormer with surround; at the corner of the cornice on consoles two sculpted shield-bearing lions; the facade on the country side projects over the gate passage on moulded consoles.
