"Generaal van Heutzkazerne. Fors gebouw, dat de drie zijden omsluit van een voorplein, dat aan de zijde van de Oudestraat met een hekwerk is afgesloten. Lijstgevel; de lijsten voorzien van consoles. Natuurstenen vensterdorpels; een aantal vensters heeft roedenverdeling en houten zwikvullingen. XIX. Smal pand met pakhuisgevel naast de kazerne, voorzien van rechte kroonlijst en op ieder van de drie bouwlagen een opening in de voorgevel. De ingang wordt gedekt door een grote rondboog met dubbele deuren; natuurstenen aanzet- en sluitstenen in de boog, alles in zorgvuldig uitgevoerd metselwerk en gedagde voegen, XIXA of XIXm. Achter de gevel gaat een ouder casco schuil met eiken balken, voorzien van rijk geprofileerde, laat-gotische console met sierspijkers, jongere vloeren en sporenkap met enkelvoudige, eiken spantjukken, XVIA. Afgeknotte, oude, achtergevel met restanten van natuurstenen kruis- en kloostervensters. Tegen de achtergevel staat een moderne, lage aanbouw met plat dak. Pand met gave pakhuisgevel waarachter zich een laat- middeleeuws casco bevindt met eiken balklagen, kap en een afgeknotte achtergevel met bouwsporen. Description
General van Heutz Barracks. Substantial building which encloses three sides of a courtyard which is closed off on the Oudestraat side by railings. Cornice-topped facade; the cornices provided with consoles. Natural stone window lintels; a number of windows have glazing bars and wooden arch fillings. 19th century. Narrow building with warehouse facade beside the barracks, provided with straight cornice and on each of the three storeys an opening in the front facade. The entrance is covered by a large round arch with double doors; natural stone setting and voussoir stones in the arch, all in carefully executed brickwork with tooled joints, first half of the 19th century or mid-19th century. Behind the facade lies an older frame with oak beams provided with richly moulded late Gothic consoles with ornamental pegs, younger floors and collar-tie roof truss with single oak tie beams, first half of the 16th century. Truncated old rear facade with remains of natural stone cross and cloister windows. Against the rear facade stands a modern, low extension with flat roof. Building with original warehouse facade behind which lies a late medieval frame with oak floor joists, roof and a truncated rear facade with building traces. Building of architectural and construction-historical significance.
