Omschrijving
St. Michael, gewijd 1879. A. Tepe. Neogotische kruisbasiliek met hoge westtoren, versierd met drie nissen in elk drie verdiepingen. Balustraden en pinakels van baksteen, rijk gedetailleerde topgevels op het transept met nissen en fioelen. Achthoekige sacristie met verdieping en tentdak, waarop houten torentje aan de zuidzijde van het koor. Ronde pijlers met kolonnetten en lijstkapitelen. Vrijwel integraal bewaarde Bernulphusgilde-inventaris. Eenklaviers orgel, in 1758 gemaakt door J.H.H. Batz voor de Herv. Kerk te Oosterhout. Na verblijf in twee Utrechtse kerken werd het orgel in 1987 in Schalkwijk geplaatst. Mechanisch torenuurwerk, Gebr. van Bergen te Midwolda, 1879 (1839?), voorzien van elektrische opwinding.

Description
St. Michael, consecrated 1879. A. Tepe. Neo-gothic cruciform basilica with high west tower, decorated with three niches in each three storeys. Brick balusters and pinnacles, richly detailed gable tops on the transept with niches and crockets. Octagonal sacristy with storey and tent roof, on which wooden small tower on the south side of the choir. Round pillars with colonnettes and moulded capitals. Virtually entirely preserved Bernulphus guild inventory. Single manual organ, made in 1758 by J.H.H. Batz for the Reformed Church at Oosterhout. After stays in two Utrecht churches, the organ was placed in Schalkwijk in 1987. Mechanical tower clockwork, Gebr. van Bergen at Midwolda, 1879 (1839?), provided with electric winding.
