Description

Originally presumably 15th-century HOUSE, subsequently rebuilt several times (notably at the end of the 18th century), built in brick, partially cellared dwelling house on rectangular plan, with recessed internal hearth, mezzanine storey, storey and attic with breast wall and covered with red Dutch tiles under hipped roof (late 18th-century alterations to the original gabled roof). The house received at the end of the 18th century a front facade built in yellow Ysselsteen brick and terminated with a profiled drip moulding, with on the ground floor two (originally 6-pane) sash windows and in the centre a door with tall fanlight, on the storey two 12-pane sash windows, and 4-pane attic window. In the rear facade - as well as the side facades built in large-format red brick - in the window openings of the mezzanine storey and the storey are still (partly) the late 18th-century 9-pane sash windows. Interior: beneath the front section a cellar with barrel vault; beneath the rear section, at garden level, a room with small barrel vaults (second half of 19th century) and in the left side wall of the adjacent passage three recesses. On the ground floor (front section) in both side walls three recesses; against the third, blocked recess in the right wall a segment-shaped Empire mantelpiece. The floors, consisting partly of broad timbers, rest on composite beam structures, in the front section still partly with corbels and traces of the earlier construction with corbel supports, and at the attic floor of the rear section with corbel supports; from the storey floor of the front section to the attic an oak spiral staircase. Roof truss structure with four, largely original rafter pairs with bent rafter legs.
