Tussen Strandboulevard Oost 14 en Plantage 26 (vestingmuur en zeebeer); Blokhuis 11 (Soephuis); BY Blokhuis 11 (restant stadsmuur).
Een langgerekt gedeelte van de vestingmuur, lopend vanaf Strandboulevard Oost 14 tot Plantage 26. In dit gedeelte aan het eind van de Blauwverversteeg een spitsbogig poortje met latere kantelen bekroond. Voorbij het Blokhuis (apart monument 20157) begint de z.g. Zeebeer, waarschijnlijk 16e eeuw en aangelegd door Ant. Anthoniszn. uit Alkmaar. De vestingwerken zijn verbeterd in 1584-1590. De beer vormde de scheiding tussen zoutzeewater en zoet grachtwater. Bij het muurgedeelte hoort ook het z.g. Soephuis en het restant stadsmuur aan de straat Blokhuis. Het Soephuis is het restant van de vroegere "Vanghentoren".

Between Strandboulevard Oost 14 and Plantage 26 (fortification wall and sea beaver); Blokhuis 11 (Soup house); BY Blokhuis 11 (remainder of city wall).
An elongated section of the fortification wall, running from Strandboulevard Oost 14 to Plantage 26. In this section at the end of the Blauwverversteeg a pointed-arch gateway crowned with later crenellations. Beyond the Blokhuis (separate monument 20157) begins the so-called Zeebeer, probably 16th century and laid out by Ant. Anthoniszn. from Alkmaar. The fortification works were improved in 1584-1590. The beaver formed the division between salt sea water and fresh moat water. The mural section also includes the so-called Soup house and the remainder of city wall on the street Blokhuis. The Soup house is the remnant of the former "Vanghentoren".
