Omschrijving
Stadhuis. In oorsprong laat-middeleeuws bouwwerk, gewijzigd in 1620 en geheel gemoderniseerd in neoklassicistische trant in 1837. Rechthoekig bakstenen bouwwerk met omlopend schilddak, waarop een houten klokkentoren met koepeldak. Middenrisaliet met triomfboog, gedragen op twee paren gecanneleerde, Dorische zuilen. Empiredeuromlijsting, waarboven opschrift "Renovatum anno MDCCCXXXVII". Houten fronton als bekroning van de risaliet. Van de vensters, die hun zesdelige schuiframen uit de verbouwing van 1837 bewaard hebben, dragen die in de parterre hoofdgestellen. Natuurstenen plint en bekleding met natuursteen van de risaliet. Town Hall. Originally late medieval structure, modified in 1620 and completely modernized in neoclassical style in 1837. The council chamber contains an extremely rich interior from 1727 and 1730. In the tower of the town hall two great bells by Geryt van Wou st. from 1503.
