Omschrijving
St. Nicolaas, 1885-1887 door A. Tepe. Driebeukig neogotische hallenkerk, geent op het Westfaalse type, met diagonale kapellen naast het koor. Voor Tepe rijke behandeling van het uitwendige met baksteen balustraden en pinakels. Hoge toren met diepe nissen, bakstenen traceringen, balustraden en ficelen op de hoeken, Nederrijns van karakter. De kerk heeft ronde pijlers met kolonnetten aan vier zijden. Netgewelven over de middenbeuk. Een der voornaamste en mooiste scheppingen van Tepe. Inventaris: preekstoel en communiebank in barokstijl, 13e eeuws Mariabeeld, neogotische altaren van Mengelberg. De neogotische koorbank en ijzeren kronen zijn afkomstig uit de Biltstraatkerk in Utrecht.Orgel met twee klavieren en vrij Pedaal, in 1890 gemaakt door M. Maarschalkerweerd. The church has round pillars with small columns on four sides. Net vaulting over the central nave. One of the most important and beautiful creations of Tepe. Inventory: pulpit and communion bench in baroque style, 13th century Maria image, neogothic altars by Mengelberg. The neogothic choir bench and iron crowns come from the Biltstraat Church in Utrecht. Organ with two manuals and free pedal, made in 1890 by M. Maarschalkerweerd. In 1972 restored by the firm Elbertse. The pneumatic action was replaced by electro-pneumatic with a separate console.
