Omschrijving
Prinsenhof.
In het laatst der 16e eeuw in W. deel Predikherenklooster ondergebracht dat in 1287 gesticht werd achter de grafelijke halle; kreeg zijn tegenwoordig aanzien in 2e helft der 18e eeuw.
Rechte kroonlijst omlijsting om deuringang, roedeverdeling, vensters met schuiframen, aan de zijde Jacobijnenstraat overblijfselen muur der Predikherenkerk.
Inwendig langs oostmuur kruisgewelven van kloostergang.
In Z-deel portiek 1595 versierd met baksteen en natuursteen, drie Dorische zuilen met bogen en versierd fries. Toegang voorhuis boog op twee pilasters rustend.
Enige goede interieuren en schoorstenen.
Fraaie 18e-eeuwse ingangspartij, belangrijke delen interieur w.o. driebogige portaal met metselwerk en gebruik van natuursteen, zeer fraai gebeeldhouwde koppen, 1595, grote gemetselde boog hier tegenover, enige schoorstenen in raadszaal fraai gebeeldhouwde dessus de portes met wapens van Holland en Haarlem, antichambre met gesneden houten plafond, midden 18e eeuw van elders overgebracht.
Kloostergangen rondom binnenplaats grotendeels intact.

Prinsenhof.
In the late 16th century in the western part a Preaching Friars' convent housed, which was founded in 1287 behind the Count's hall; acquired its present appearance in the second half of the 18th century.
Straight cornice surround around door entrance, glazing bars, windows with sash windows, on the Jacobijnenstraat side remains of wall of the Preaching Friars' church.
Internally along the east wall cross vaults of the cloister gallery.
In the southern part porch 1595 decorated with brick and natural stone, three Doric columns with arches and decorated frieze. Entrance to front room arch resting on two pilasters.
Some good interiors and chimney pieces.
Fine 18th-century entrance section, important parts of interior including three-arched portal with masonry and use of natural stone, very finely carved heads, 1595, large masoned arch opposite here, some chimney pieces in council chamber finely carved overmantels with coats of arms of Holland and Haarlem, antichambre with carved wooden ceiling, mid-18th century brought from elsewhere.
