Omschrijving
Voormalig OUDEMANNENHUIS met BINNENPLAATS, in 1608 gesticht. In 1810 Nederlands gereformeerd Weeshuis in 1866 Burgeravondschool, in 1917 Stedelijk Museum Frans hals museum. Vier om de binnenplaats opgetrokken vleugels waarvan het westelijke en het poortgebouw in het midden van de oostelijke vleugel tot de oorspronkelijke bouw behoren.
Westvleugel met gestrekte bakstenen gevel, begin 17e eeuw, met zandstenen blokken in vensterneggen en ontlastingsbogen, midden een trapgevel met zandstenen klauwstukken. Twee Ovale gebeeldhouwde medaillons, wapens Holland en Haarlem en 1608; bekronend fronton. Open koepel op het dak, 1820. Deuromlijsting en bovenlicht tweede deel achttiende eeuw.

Description
Former OLD MEN'S HOUSE with INNER COURTYARD, founded in 1608. In 1810 Dutch Reformed Orphanage in 1866 Burgeravondschool, in 1917 Municipal Museum Frans Hals Museum. Four wings erected around the courtyard of which the western and the gateway building in the middle of the eastern wing belong to the original construction.
West wing with stretched brick facade, early 17th century, with sandstone blocks in window reveals and relieving arches, in the middle a stepped gable with sandstone claw pieces. Two oval carved medallions, coats of arms of Holland and Haarlem and 1608; crowning pediment. Open cupola on the roof, 1820. Door frame and fanlight second half eighteenth century.
Inside dining hall with beam corbels, corbel stones and paved floor intact preserved, seventeenth century.
Gateway building on the Groot Heiligland circa 1600, strongly restored image of an old man, early seventeenth century. On the side of the inner courtyard the gate opening, moulded stones with ashlar blocks, Doric pilasters bearing the main entablature, mask heads and carved stones.
