Paviljoen Welgelegen in de Haarlemmerhout: In 1785/8 naar ontwerp van Triquetti (consul van Sardinië) door J.B. Dubois uit Dendermonde voor Henry Hope gebouwd. Hoofd façade op het zuiden; zeer monumentaal behandeld, zij diende als kunstgalerij voor de collectie van Hope. De vleugel op het westen van de Dreef was voor bewoning bestemd. In 1808 door Koning Lodewijk Napoleon in gebruik genomen. Door Koning Willem I ter beschikking gesteld aan zijn moeder de Prinses Douairière Wilhelmina. Aan de zuidzijde een terras met twee opritten naar de bel-etage. Aan het begin van beide opritten twee beelden van liggende leeuwen; hoog middenpaviljoen met geblokte pilasters en dubbele Dorische en Ionische zuilen gedekt door driehoekig fronton. Description
Pavilion Welgelegen in the Haarlemmerhout: Built in 1785/8 to the design of Triquetti (consul of Sardinia) by J.B. Dubois from Dendermonde for Henry Hope. Main facade facing south; treated in very monumental style, it served as an art gallery for Hope's collection. The wing to the west of the Dreef was intended for residence.
