Omschrijving
STADHUIS met STOEP, PALEN, KETTINGEN en HOEKLANTAARNS. Op de plaats waar ongeveer het middeleeuwse raadhuis gestaan heeft, is in de jaren 1793-1810 het tegenwoordige Stadhuis gebouwd naar gewijzigd ontwerp van de Amsterdamse architect J.O. Husly, die de eerste prijs won in een prijsvraag, in 1775 reeds uitgeschreven.
Het gebouw bestaat uit vier vleugels rond een binnenplaats, waarvan de westelijke eerst in 1672 tot stand kwam. Aan de oostzijde ingangsporticus op zuilen gedragen en bekroond door een tympaan en toegankelijk langs trap van twee vluchten. De trap staat op een hardstenen stoep die doorloopt rondom het gebouw. Op de stoep stoeppalen met daartussen kettingen met op de hoeken aan de voorzijde een lantaarn als begrenzing. Inwendig decoratie met pilasterstellingen.

Description
TOWN HALL with STEPS, BOLLARDS, CHAINS and CORNER LANTERNS. On the site where approximately the medieval town hall stood, in the years 1793-1810 the present Town Hall was built to a modified design of the Amsterdam architect J.O. Husly, who won first prize in a competition already announced in 1775.
The building consists of four wings around a courtyard, of which the western wing was first completed in 1672. On the east side entrance portico carried on columns and crowned by a tympanum and accessible by a staircase of two flights. The stairs stand on a hardstone step that runs around the building.
