VOORMALIG PALEIS DER GRAVEN VAN HOLLAND MET RIDDERZAAL; het oudste deel van omstreeks 1250 bevat nog een kelder uit de bouwtijd en daarboven de Rolzaal; de oostelijke aanbouw, eertijds de Civiele kamer van het Hof van Holland, dateert in zijn huidige toestand uit 1668, toen ook de zeven wandschilderingen op doek door Gerard de Lairesse werden aangebracht; de Ridderzaal uit de tweede helft van de 13e eeuw bevat in de kelder nog resten van een ouder gebouw.

Description
FORMER PALACE OF THE COUNTS OF HOLLAND WITH KNIGHTS' HALL; the oldest part from circa 1250 still contains a cellar from the building period and above it the Rolzaal; the eastern extension, formerly the Civil chamber of the Court of Holland, dates in its present state from 1668, when also the seven wall paintings on canvas by Gerard de Lairesse were executed; the Knights' Hall from the second half of the 13th century contains in the cellar still remains of an older building.
