Omschrijving
Stadhuis. In oorsprong laat-middeleeuws gotisch gebouw, dat bij een ingrijpende verbouwing 1771-1775 die ook het conciergehuis de Waag en de Vleeshal betrof, zijn huidige, het Marktplein met gevel en toren zo fraai beheersende, gedaante kreeg.
Inwendig raadzaal met sierlijke rococo-betimmering, waarin een schoorsteenstuk en dessus de porte door M.J. Geeraerts stucplafond met allegorieen door Guiseppe Soldati. Gesmeed ijzeren hek door Maxime Sumel.
In lantaarn een automatisch klokkenspel bestaande uit 10 klokken van A.J. van den Gheyn, 1766 en 1 klok van Van Bergen uit 1948. Trommelspeelwerk van Jan van de Brant, ca. 1550.

Description
Town Hall. Originally a late-medieval Gothic building, which during a major renovation 1771-1775 also affecting the concierge building de Waag and the Meat Hall, acquired its present appearance, commanding the Market Square with facade and tower so finely.
Interior council chamber with elegant rococo panelling, containing a chimney piece and dessus de porte by M.J. Geeraerts stucco ceiling with allegories by Giuseppe Soldati. Wrought-iron gate by Maxime Sumel.
In the lantern an automatic carillon consisting of 10 bells by A.J. van den Gheyn, 1766 and 1 bell by Van Bergen from 1948. Drum mechanism by Jan van de Brant, circa 1550.
