Omschrijving
Openbare LEESZAAL. Late Empire gevel, gedateerd 1841. Indrukwekkende, gepleisterde lijstgevel met zijrisalieten, hardstenen plint, banden, waterlijst, pilasters en vensterdorpels. Vensters parterre getoogd, vensters verdieping met hoofdgestellen. De lijst wordt gedragen door gesneden consoles. In de verdieping nog de oorspronkelijke schuiframen.
Torentje met wijzerplaat, waaronder draperieversiering, geflankeerd door liggende voluten.
Klok (1551) van Jan Moor.
Fraai gebouw van eenvoudige doch harmonische architectuur en van oudheidkundige waarde.

Description
Public READING ROOM. Late Empire facade, dated 1841. Imposing, plastered cornice-topped facade with side risalits, ashlar plinth, bands, drip moulding, pilasters and window sills. Windows on the ground floor with arched head, windows on the storey with main frames. The cornice is supported by carved consoles. In the storey the original sash windows are still present.
Small tower with clock face, below which drapery decoration, flanked by reclining volutes.
