Omschrijving
Augustijnenkerk (Ned.Herv.). Grote laat gotische KLOOSTERKERK, gebouwd na een brand in 1518. Schip van acht traveeën, koor van een travee met driezijdige sluiting en een zuiderzijbeuk van gelijke hoogte als de hoofdbeuk.
Uitwendig zeer sober. Tegen de vrijstaande, noordelijke gevel zware, tweemaal versneden beren en natuurstenen waterlijst. Voorgevel aan de Voorstraat, gedateerd 1776, van strenge monumentale allure: gebogen zijstukken, houten lijst en driehoekig fronton. Twee identieke deuromlijstingen in hardsteen, gebosseerd, waarboven rondbogige vensters. Hardstenen plint, antieke lantaarns.
Inwendig zuilen met krulkoolkapitelen en tongewelven met trekbalken. Houten ramen. Langs de zuidzijde drie kapellen, van oost naar west: Van Beverenkapel met gehavend grafmonument (1631) en driezijdige sluiting; een brede uit twee oudere samengetrokken, kapel met een Lodewijk XIV grafmonument en Doopkapel met driezijdige sluiting en straalgewelf op schalken met kapitelen. In het koor gemetseld geprofileerd poortje, getoogd met in de sluitsteen: 1614. Tweeklaviers orgel met vrij Pedaal, in 1899 gemaakt door M. Maarschalkerweerd. Preekstoel (XVII) op voet (1576) met klankbord (1596) en koperen lezenaar (XVII). Zerken, onder de houten vloer verborgen; orgelgalerij 1776.

Description
Augustijnenkerk (Dutch Reformed). Large late Gothic MONASTERY CHURCH, built after a fire in 1518. Nave of eight bays, choir of one bay with three-sided closure and a southern aisle of equal height to the main aisle.
Externally very austere. Against the freestanding northern facade heavy corbels, twice stepped, and natural stone drip moulding. Front facade on the Voorstraat, dated 1776, of strict monumental character: curved side sections, wooden moulding and triangular pediment. Two identical door framings in hard stone, rusticated, above which round-arched windows. Hard stone plinth, antique lanterns.
Interior pillars with curled acanthus capitals and barrel vaults with tie beams. Wooden windows. Along the south side three chapels, from east to west: Van Beverenkapel with damaged monument (1631) and three-sided closure; a broad chapel made from two older ones combined, with a Louis XIV monument and Baptismal Chapel with three-sided closure and star vault on corbels with capitals. In the choir a built-in moulded doorway, spanned with in the keystone: 1614. Two-manual organ with free Pedal, made in 1899 by M. Maarschalkerweerd. Pulpit (17th century) on base (1576) with tester (1596) and brass lectern (17th century). Tombstones, hidden under the wooden floor; organ gallery 1776.
