Omschrijving
"De Berckepoort". Omvangrijk GEBOUWENCOMPLEX, bestaande uit twee evenwijdige haaks op de straatas staande vleugels met zadeldaken tussen tot puntgevels gewijzigde trapgevels (XVI c). Rechts daarvan een uit acht vensterassen bestaand gedeelte evenwijdig aan de straat achter een lijstgevel. Dit laatste deel bestaat uit twee evenwijdige vleugels onder zadeldak en tussen topgevels met vlechtingen en een zakgoot in het midden.
De gevels aan de Nieuwstraat hebben renaissance details: speklagen, korfboognissen, poortjes met leeuwenmaskers en fraaie muurijzers. Schuiframen meest stijl XVIII.
De achtergevel heeft speklagen en geprofileerde ontlastingsbogen, die geblokt zijn en in de boog driepassen bezitten, eindigend in fraai gehouwen leliemotieven. Muurankers.

Description
"De Berckepoort". Extensive BUILDING COMPLEX, consisting of two parallel wings perpendicular to the street axis with gabled roofs between stepped gables modified to pointed gables (last quarter of the 16th century). To the right of this a section consisting of eight window bays parallel to the street behind a cornice-topped facade. This latter part consists of two parallel wings under gabled roof and between pointed gables with plaiting and a valley gutter in the middle.
The facades on the Nieuwstraat have Renaissance details: brick courses, basket arch niches, small doorways with lion masks and fine wall anchors. Sash windows mostly 18th-century style.
The rear facade has brick courses and moulded relieving arches, which are blocked and possess trefoils in the arch, ending in finely carved lily motifs. Wall anchors.
Building of general importance for its exceptional antiquarian and art-historical value.
