Omschrijving
KOOPMANSHUIS "Het Meevat". Zeer groots opgezet koopmanshuis ter breedte van drie en ter diepte van acht assen. Parterre met drie verdiepingen en twee zolderverdiepingen. Gevel met middenrisaliet, natuurstenen pui met getoogde poort en onder de lijst Lodewijk XIV consoles. De eerste en tweede verdieping hebben Empire schuiframen; de zijvensters van de derde verdieping hebben nog de oorspronkelijke middenstijlen. Halsgevel met zware vleugelstukken, waarin acanthusbladeren en bloemmotieven. Op de hoeken siervazen. Oeil's-de-boeuf met rankenornament, geprofileerde segmentvormige bekroning waaronder gekroond wapen en festoenen. Boven het middenvenster van de eerste verdieping een banderolle met jaartal 1700.
De stoep is bij ophogingen van de straat daarin verdwenen.
Fraai gebouw van algemeen belang wegens oudheidkundige en kunsthistorische waarde.

Description
MERCHANT'S HOUSE "Het Meevat". Very grandly conceived merchant's house spanning three bays in width and eight in depth. Ground floor with three storeys and two attic storeys. Facade with central risalit, natural stone shopfront with arched gateway and below the list Louis XIV consoles. The first and second storeys have Empire sash windows; the side windows of the third storey still have their original mullions. Neck gable with heavy wing sections, containing acanthus leaves and floral motifs. On the corners decorative urns. Oeil's-de-boeuf with tendril ornament, moulded segmental crowning beneath which crowned coat-of-arms and festoons. Above the central window of the first storey a banner with date 1700.
The step disappeared due to street raising.
Fine building of general importance due to its antiquarian and art-historical value.
